This is not the aluminum siding you see dented down the street. Nor is it to be confused with tin siding. Gentek makes their steel siding with 29-gauge galvanized steel. This stuff can withstand hail and hurricane winds without damage! A eight millimeter Kynar PVDF coating protects its surface.

What is Kynar PVDF and why does it matter?
Kynar PVDF is a proprietary coating used to protect Gentek products. Without it, the steel would rust and scratch. The paint would fade and chip. It gives the siding a luxurious low-gloss surface.
